Chief Executive Officer
Kenny joined Christie Clinic in June 2008. In his role as CEO, he works in concert with the Board of Directors and leads the Administrative Team to set the strategic vision, implement change initiatives and direct the operations of the Clinic. Prior to assuming the role of CEO in September of 2014, Kenny was the Chief Financial Officer for Christie. He is also the Owner and CEO of Community Partners Health Plans, Inc., a Champaign-based health care services company offering comprehensive PPO network solutions, third-party administration, and general agency services to providers, payors, and employers. Kenny received his MBA from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Dr. William Pierce
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Pierce joined Christie Clinic's Department of Foot and Ankle Surgery in 1987. In addition to his practice, he currently serves as the clinic's Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Pierce participates in recruiting and retaining physicians, mentors physicians and non-physicians, and serves as a goodwill ambassador to the community. He also oversees the Christie Clinic quality program and credentialing of medical providers.
Chief Operating Officer
Jason Hirsbrunner, Chief Operating Officer, has been with Christie Clinic since 2007. He most recently served as Christie Clinic’s Director of Support Services and, prior to that, Pharmacy Manager. Hirsbrunner began his career in healthcare leadership by overseeing several long-term care and assisted-living facilities throughout the state of Illinois. Jason received his MBA from the University of Illinois.
Chief Financial Officer
Anni has been with Christie Clinic since 1999 and previously served as Director of Fiscal and Business Services. Her responsibilities included leadership for the revenue cycle from patient check-in to payment deposit, as well as overall financial budgeting, record keeping, and reporting. Anni is a member of the MGMA, Illinois CPA Society, and AICPA. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois.

Stuart C. King, MD MBA
Department of Spine and Pain Management
A native of Champaign-Urbana, Dr. Stuart King joined Christie Clinic in 2006. He attended the University of Illinois for Medical School and Business School. He is an Interim Associate Dean at the College of Medicine. In the Department of Spine and Pain Management, Dr. King specializes in interventional techniques to treat painful disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Dr. King has successfully implemented lean management techniques and accepts business interns and medical students in his department.
Kathleen L. Collins, MD
Department of Internal Medicine
Dr. Collins joined Christie Clinic after her residency and internship at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. In the Department of Internal Medicine, Dr. Collins diagnoses and treats non-surgical illnesses in adults. She has a special medical interest in women's health issues and geriatrics.
Fred Haynes, MD
Department of General Surgery
Dr. Haynes joined the Christie Clinic team in 1975. Dr. Haynes is the head of the Department of General Surgery at Christie Clinic. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis and completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago, and he completed a fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Eric Helfer, MD
Department of Urology
In the Department of Urology, Dr. Helfer treats diseases and malfunctions of the bladder, prostate, and kidneys in adults and children. He has been at Christie Clinic since 2006. He completed medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria and his residency at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Subbiah Rajaguru, MD
Department of Cardiology
Dr. Rajaguru first joined Christie Clinic in the Department of Internal Medicine in 1995. In 2002, he pursued fellowship training in cardiology at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and electrophysiology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Rajaguru returned to Christie Clinic in 2006 as a member of the Department of Cardiology. He specializes in the treatment of adult heart disease and electrical rhythm problems.
Krishnarao Tangella, MD MBA
Department of Pathology
Dr. Tangella actively participates in collaborative translational research at the world renowned Beckman Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Tangella's research interests include cellular biomedical imaging and optical characteristics of cancers. He actively teaches medical students and internal medicine residents as a Clinical Associate Professor in Departments of Pathology and Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He was awarded the 2011 Board of Regents Young Executive Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dr. Tangella received his MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and finished his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology from the University of Arizona. Dr. Tangella and his wife, Mayra, enjoy traveling to new places with their family.
Sami S. Zabaneh, MD
Department of Internal Medicine
Before he joined Christie Clinic in 1995, Dr. Zabaneh served one year as chief medical resident at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. In the Department of Internal Medicine, Dr. Zabaneh diagnoses and treats non-surgical illnesses in adults.
