I decided to become a medical provider in grade school. My uncle had ALS and died when I was in the eighth grade. I was amazed at all of the various medical providers, from physicians, to nurses, to physical and occupational therapists, as well as all of the equipment that was available to help him. It was then that I decided to go into medicine. I was, however, always interested in working with children. From day one of medical school, I knew I wanted to go into pediatrics. I went through all of the various rotations and briefly considered obstetrics, but quickly realized that as soon as that baby was born, my attention was always focused in that direction!
My husband, Bob, and I have a daughter, Andie, who is involved in multiple sports. We spend a lot of time cheering her on. As a family, we enjoy most outdoor activities. My favorite hobby is scrapbooking, so I can often be found following my family around with a camera!

When they leave my office, I want my patients to feel that I was thorough, gave them my full attention, listened to what they had to say, and involved them in the decision-making process.
