I really enjoyed science classes in high school, particularly my anatomy class. My teacher encouraged me to pursue the medical field.

Personal

I most enjoy family time outside of work. I spend a lot of time watching my son play baseball, football, and hockey. I also enjoy crafting and baking.

I have family members who had ocular health issues, so I was aware of the importance of eyecare from a young age. After I decided I might like to be an optometrist, I began working in an optometry clinic when I was in high school. It seemed like a career I could see myself in. I worked in optometry practices when I was in college and optometry school, and the doctors there were great role models for practicing with a medical focus.
