Testicular Pain
Trauma or injury to the testicles can cause pain, but pain in the testicle is often the result of medical issues that should be evaluated and treated.
Prostate Cancer
Cancer occurs when cells in the body begin changing and multiplying out of control. These cells can form lumps of tissue called tumors. Cancer that starts in the prostate is called prostate cancer. Cancer can grow and spread beyond the prostate, threatening health and life.
Prostate Cancer Antigen
This test measures the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. The cells of the prostate gland make the protein called PSA. Men normally have low levels of PSA. If your PSA levels start to rise, it could mean you have prostate cancer, benign prostate conditions, inflammation, or an infection.
Prostate Cancer and Testing
The prostate gland is approximately the size and shape of a walnut. It surrounds the upper part of the urethra. The prostate produces most of the semen in which sperm travels. As men age, the cells of the prostate may change to form tumors or other growths. Some growths may be benign (not cancerous), other growths may be cancerous.
Overactive Bladder Syndrome
Your health care provider has told you that you have overactive bladder syndrome (OAB). OAB may be due to: obesity, diabetes, infections, bladder cancer, age, urologic disorders and prostate problems. Often the reason for OAB is unknown. Treatments are available to help control the bladder muscle and manage OAB. Read on to learn more.
Erectile Dysfunction
Many men feel embarrassed to talk to their provider about erectile dysfunction (ED). This common problem can be treated, but only if your provider knows about it. Your provider will likely ask you questions about your ED. Whether you’re asked or not, tell your provider anything that might help understand the problem. Your provider may do an exam and may run some tests to help find the cause of your ED.
Enlarged Prostate
The prostate is a gland at the base of the bladder. As some men get older, the prostate may begin to increase in size. This problem is called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH puts pressure on the urethra. This is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the penis. It may interfere with the flow of urine. It may also keep the bladder from emptying fully, which leads to urgency, frequency and night time urination.
Bladder Cancer
Hematuria (blood in the urine) is the most common symptom of bladder cancer. It is generally painless. Blood may be visible, but in most cases it can only be seen under a microscope. Although we do not know all the causes of bladder cancer, there are certain known risk factors that can increase the chance of cancer.
