Christie Clinic welcomes Nikolaos Karagiorgos, MD back to the Vein & Vascular Center located at 101 W University Ave in Downtown Champaign. Dr. Karagiorgos offers comprehensive vascular services for all vascular disorders. He is dedicated to limb salvage and he manages all aspects of Peripheral Vascular Disease including minimally invasive and open procedures. He is an expert in preventing strokes with Carotid endarterectomies and Carotid stenting (TCAR). He manages, monitors, and repairs, when indicated, aortic aneurysms to prevent rupture and death. He provides dialysis access and continues monitoring End-Stage Renal Disease patients. Furthermore, he treats Varicose Veins and all aspects of Chronic Venous Hypertension.
Dr. Karagiorgos received his medical degree from the University of Crete in Greece. After 6 years of training in Europe (Greece, England) he pursued a career in the United States. He completed his General Surgery residency at Metropolitan Group Hospital at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed his vascular fellowship at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. He is double certified by the American College of Surgeons in General Surgery, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and he is also a Fellow of the Society of Vascular Surgery.
