First year in healthcare:

2013

Department:

ENT

How did you get to where you are today?:

When I was in 6th grade, we made a time capsule and they asked us what I wanted to be I said "a nurse." I always knew helping others was what I was supposed to do. I started as a CNA, then a CMA, then now an LPN. I have learned so much being in every position.

What drew you to Christie Clinic?:

I started in healthcare at Christie Clinic and have loved every year of it. Christie Clinic really does listen to its patients and team members. I love the smaller atmosphere it provides, the providers I work with know me on a personal level and take an interest in me as a person.

Tell us WHY you chose your career path:

I chose this career path first as an MOA. Once I realized the difference I could make in someone's day or life, I knew helping people was what I wanted and needed to do. I believe you get in this life what you put out, so treating others how I want to be treated is important to me I'm committed to spreading kindness and respect to all our patients, no matter how big or small the reason they visit us.

Is there anyone who helped you along the way?:

My first nurse mentor she showed me how to love and care about things that others might not see put as much time or effort into. She taught me the true meaning of being a nurse. I truly have met the most amazing people working at Christie Clinic. I have made a small family from all the people I've grown close to during my time at Christie Clinic.
