What drew you to Christie Clinic?:
I know that if I wanted or needed to speak with one of the executives, I could schedule a time or meet them in the hallway and they would connect with me. I know that Christie Clinic works hard to create a culture of value of its employees - this is critical for me. It provides me the framework and opportunity to connect with many colleagues on both a professional and personal level. In the end, it really comes down to the people that I work beside every day.
Tell us WHY you chose your career path:
Watching my mom work in the manufacturing industry for a few years, I was seeking a career with job stability and decent pay. Not very glamorous, I know. Along the way, the profession of nursing has opened many doors of opportunity for me. In 2005, I landed in the Electronic Medical Record world and have been hooked. It is a great combination of exercising my clinical and intellectual skills, systems thinking, and oddly, I get to work with my hands (at the keyboard) every day. It has been a great match. and ps. I am rarely bored.
