To protect our patients' personal health information, the patient portal (MyChart) will now require two-factor authentication (2FA) to log in beginning April 13, 2025. For step-by-step guidance on enabling 2FA
How to Use Two-Factor Authentication
Follow these steps to enable 2FA:
- Log in to your patient portal using your username and password.
- Verify your email and phone number. If the displayed information is correct, click Continue. If it is outdated, update it before proceeding.
- Choose how you want to receive your authentication code—via email or text message. Do not close the patient portal webpage/app while waiting for the code. If you exit, you will need to restart the login process.
- Retrieve your six-digit authentication code from your email or text message.
- Enter the code on the patient portal login page and select “Verify.” You may check the “Trust this device” option to bypass 2FA on future logins (only on personal devices).
Troubleshooting
My authentication code isn’t working
- Ensure you’ve entered the most recent code correctly.
- Allow a few minutes for the code to arrive.
- If the issue persists, contact the Christie Clinic Customer Services at (217) 366-2601.
I didn’t receive a code
If you haven’t received a code after 15 minutes:
- Check your phone/internet connection.
- Verify that the correct phone number or email address is listed.
- If you previously opted out of text messages, opt back in by texting “CANCEL” to (712) 739-0590.
- Click the “Resend code” link on the MyChart patient portal login page.
- Check your spam/junk mail folder.
- If you still haven’t received a code, call (217) 366-2601 for assistance.
Why do I need to enter a code every time I log in?
To reduce repeated authentication requests, select “Trust this device” when logging in on a personal device. This setting remains active for one year unless you clear your device’s data or switch to a new phone.
How do I update my phone number in the patient portal (MyChart)?
To update your phone number, contact your provider’s office to update your medical records.
