Dr. Candace McGregor

First year in healthcare:

2005

Department:

Chief Medical Officer & OB/GYN

How did you get to where you are today?:

I told my mom when I was 11 years old that I was going to deliver babies. I went to Millikin University, then to University of Chicago, then to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for my residency.

What drew you to Christie Clinic?:

It seemed the right fit - seeing patients as human beings and not just an item on an assembly line or to-do list. The patient comes first.

Tell us WHY you chose your career path:

The human body was just downright amazing to me. I loved learning about how it worked, and I still love learning today. I also wanted to help people when the body didn't work that way or when it was failing. To bring comfort to those that were suffering and help people live their healthiest lives.

Is there anyone who helped you along the way?:

Dr. Young was instrumental in helping me connect here and quickly became my "person" - that special friend and partner that you can't really imagine living without. Dr. Pierce was instrumental in my leadership journey - helping equip me with the training and experiences I would need in this current position.
